Norfolk runs from working farm country down to a genuine stretch of Lake Erie coastline, and the two halves behave completely differently. Simcoe is the main town inland, with Delhi and Waterford among the others; Port Dover and Long Point are on the water, where the population swells in summer and a good deal of property was built for seasonal use. A driveway in one half is not solving the same problem as a driveway in the other.
Norfolk County reaches the Lake Erie shore in Southwestern Ontario — we serve cities and towns across the southwest.
Inland town and farm work, plus shoreline properties rebuilt for the traffic they actually take.
For a slab that's cracked, sunken, heaving, or spalling — if the base has failed, replacing it is the chance to fix the cause, not just the surface.
For a new build, an addition, or a first-time paved driveway — the finish grade, excavation, and drainage all get set before any concrete goes down.
Excavating to depth, compacting a base that drains, and grading so water sheds away instead of pooling and freezing underneath — the biggest factor in surviving freeze-thaw.
Rebar or mesh sized to the load, plus control joints so the slab cracks where it's meant to rather than at random.
Breaking out and hauling away the old slab and any sub-base that won't compact — part of almost every replacement or widening.
For a second parking space or squaring off a narrow drive, tied cleanly into the existing slab with any municipal width limit confirmed first.
Same base, drainage, and reinforcement rules as a full driveway, at a smaller scale — a poorly built apron fails just as fast.
Patterns stamped into the surface and sealed, for the look of stone or pavers without the shifting joints.
The surface washed back to expose the stone for texture and grip, finished and cured differently on the same structural base.
Inland, Norfolk is agricultural and the work follows that. Simcoe, Delhi and Waterford have ordinary residential streets where driveways have been in the ground long enough to have followed whatever is beneath them, and the correction is to excavate and rebuild rather than resurface. Out on the concessions a lane on a working property is a different specification entirely: length has to be graded across the whole run so water keeps leaving the surface, there is a culvert or ditch at the road end, and where equipment uses the lane the thickness and reinforcement are set for that rather than for cars. This is a county where a great deal of produce moves by truck, and an approach that sees loaded vehicles needs building for them.
The shoreline is the other half. Port Dover and the properties along the lake see a summer population that is very different from the winter one, and a lot of the housing there began as seasonal. Where a place is now lived in year-round, the surface leading to it frequently was not upgraded when the house was — a drive laid for a few warm months does not take winter traffic and a full freeze-and-thaw cycle, and it shows. Rebuilding one properly means treating it as a new driveway rather than a patch: excavating to a real depth and building a base that moves water away. Where a property is rented out through the season, the turnover puts more edge loading on the surface than a family home does, and that is worth specifying for. What is under any given lot varies across a county this size and gets checked when the ground is opened.

The cost drivers are consistent — in Norfolk, lane length inland and the depth a seasonal-to-year-round rebuild actually needs on the shore are what usually move the number.
We don’t post a Norfolk County price we haven’t stood on the site to confirm — every job gets a firm written quote after we see the driveway and the access.
Typical concrete driveway jobs homeowners in the area ask us to quote. These are common project types, not a record of specific completed jobs.
Common request
Farm lane on a working property — a lane graded along its full length, culvert accounted for, specified for the equipment and trucks that use it.
Common request
Shoreline rebuild near Port Dover — replacing a surface laid for seasonal use with one built for year-round traffic and freeze-thaw.
Common request
Replacement on a Simcoe or Delhi street — removing an older town driveway and rebuilding the ground beneath it.
Seasonal-grade work and under-specified farm lanes are the two cheap shortcuts here, and both are buried where you cannot see them. Ask first:
A driveway that fails in three winters was never a saving.
A town driveway comes down to area, removal and finish; a farm lane to length and load; a shoreline rebuild to how much excavation the conversion actually needs. Written quote after a site visit.
Across the county — Simcoe, Port Dover, Delhi, Waterford, Long Point and the farm properties throughout.
Often, yes. A surface laid for summer use is commonly shallower than year-round traffic and freeze-thaw require, so the rebuild usually means digging deeper rather than repouring at the existing depth.
It can. More vehicles and more turnover means more edge loading than a single household produces, and edges are where a thin slab fails first.
It will if it is specified for it. Tell us what actually drives on it and thickness and reinforcement get set accordingly.
A town driveway is a day or two plus curing. A long lane or a full shoreline rebuild takes longer.
Entrance and width requirements come from Norfolk County, and a rural entrance may have its own process. Confirm before starting.
Foot traffic after a few days, vehicles after about a week. Heavier equipment waits longer.
